At a time when some organizations began to move or have already partially switched to electronic document circulation, and the employees themselves are moving to home offices, new heroes come to the corporate press sphere - the compact but productive Canon i-SENSYS laser devices.
Today we will talk about the new products of this year: i-SENSYS LBP312x monochrome printer, LBP654 series color printer, and i-SENSYS MF735 color multifunction printer.
New technologies in action
With each new generation of i-SENSYS printers, Canon engineers not only improve the required features such as reliability and performance, but also significantly expand the functionality of devices.
For example, new laser devices have received a number of new products that were previously available only to high-end multifunction printing “combines”. One of these innovations was the technology of duplex scanning (in one pass).
Thanks to the use of two high-precision optical sensors on each side of the sheet in the new i-SENSYS MF735 MFPs, the scanning speed has increased to quite powerful corporate devices.
Due to significant changes in the design of printing devices, in addition to scanning speed, the printing speed has also significantly increased, however, as its quality.
New cartridges with a more compact structure of components now contain more toner and, as a result, are distinguished by an increased resource (up to 85%).
The sophisticated design of trays, shafts, printing and heating elements increased the performance of devices to the level of duplex.
And the support of the V2 Color color profile in color laser devices (including the i-SENSYS LBP654 model) has significantly improved the color reproduction, sharpness and contrast of the printed image.
The new models, in particular in the i-SENSYS MF735, also implemented a new pinning technology for the A5 press that is gaining popularity in the office print environment.
This solution allows printing of A5 standard documents faster than A4 documents.
The most striking, both direct and portable, difference in most of the presented models of i-SENSYS printers is the new control interface, led by a large 5-inch touch screen.
Just as in due time smartphones with a “touchscreen” intercepted a palm from push-button mobile devices, the new Canon i-SENSYS devices are revolutionizing print management.
And the point is not only that the number of physical buttons has been minimized, but also that Canon developers and designers have implemented a new UI concept called the “Application Library”.
Also, as you personalize the screen of your smartphone, installing various applications and creating folders, “Application Library”, you can customize the device interface as convenient as possible for the user by creating a set of the most frequently used functions.
It is important to note that this concept allows you to optimally customize the interface of the printing device for various usage scenarios. For example: a device at the reception desk, office, medical facility, retail, etc.
Mobile support is another trend in the office printing segment. Most of the presented devices support Apple's Airprint technology and the Mopria print protocol (Android). Users can also quickly connect to the desired device via NFC or by reading the QR code for quick and uninterrupted connection.
The Wireless Direct feature allows you to print without network access, which is convenient for “guest” print access. And for full control of the printer or multifunction printer i-SENSYS, the Canon PRINT Business application is available, as well as RUI, the remote user interface.
For organizations and departments that often deal with printing confidential documents in new devices, Secure Print technology is implemented. It allows you to protect the print job with a PIN code: printing will begin after the user enters a unique code on the device screen.
Monochrome Laser Printer i-SENSYS LBP312x
Canon i-SENSYS LBP312x - the newest model in the family, which went on sale in March of this year.
A compact, high-performance printer that replaces the LBP6780x takes up as much space as a regular home appliance. At the same time, he is able to really cope with large volumes of work, if we are talking about black and white printing, of course.
Try to imagine that this relatively small device is capable of printing A4 pages at a speed of 43 ppm and an A5 format at a speed of 65 ppm, while the life of the cartridge is almost 2 times longer than the predecessor model.
The device provides high-quality monochrome printing with more dense black color and high sharpness for low-resolution images.
LBP312x is equipped with a built-in paper cassette with a capacity of 550 sheets and allows you to additionally install up to three cartridges with a capacity of 550 sheets each, in order to increase the loading capacity or to print on various media and paper sizes.
Color laser printer i-SENSYS LBP654
If you are looking for a reliable, easy to maintain and functional laser device for color printing, pay attention to the new LBP650 series.
Line models can have a good print quality / maintenance cost ratio, including through new, cost-effective cartridges and support for modern color profiles. A number of know-how, including control from mobile devices, secure PIN-code printing and remote control of consumables will be a nice addition.
In addition to all the above features, the “senior” models in the family - i-SENSYS LBP654 offer users a convenient interface with a color 5 ”touch screen and the“ Library of Applications ”(only in the LBP654Cx model). Due to their high performance (up to 24 ppm in A4 and 49 ppm in A5), these devices can be safely recommended to small modern organizations or departments, for which high printing speed and modern management capabilities are important.
Color laser MFP i-SENSYS MF735
High-tech i-SENSYS MF730 Series MFPs are a choice of small and medium-sized enterprises that need a complete solution for printing and working with documents.
The flagship model of the i-SENSYS MF735 multifunctional device implements all the new technologies and solutions that we talked about in our material today, including the Wi-Fi direct connection function - Wireless Direct.
The high class of devices suggests that the models provide not only high-quality prints, but also quite impressive performance: up to 27 pages per minute.
In addition, the MF735Cx model allows you to configure settings such as scan destinations (for example, e-mail), printing frequently used documents on demand, and even displaying the status of toner. To save money and energy, the MFP has an eco-copy function that allows you to place up to eight scanned pages on one sheet.
