Game Design Lecture Evening

October 2 (Wednesday) 2019 at the Higher School of Business Informatics of the NRU HSE a free Lecture Evening on game design will be held.



From 19:00 to 22:00 our teachers, experts in the gaming industry, will share their experience with the guests of the event.

Event program

1) The practice of game design: how to effectively solve applied problems - Konstantin Sakhnov, managing partner of DatCroft Games.

• List of typical tasks of a game designer;
• Effective work with narrative;
• Exact mathematics and balance;
• Quick edits and testing on the fly;
• Typical analytics tasks.

2) How mechanics tell stories - Sergey Gimelreich, game designer, game producer.

• We are taking the first steps towards understanding the language of game mechanics as a tool for narrative design. Already, many game designers recognize that beyond the simplest interaction with game objects lies something more - a new dimension that can change and enhance the transfer of psycho-emotional experience to the player.
